Case Study: Cover for the Underinsured

Introduction:

By applying for funding from the Bermuda Health Council’s Innovation Programme, Healthcare Solutions bridged a gap for underinsured patients, enhancing their access to care

Challenge:

The challenge at hand was twofold: a high number of underinsured people and the lack of comprehensive diabetes care for underinsured patients.

The solution demanded innovative thinking and collaborative efforts with primary and secondary care providers.

Approach:

Our approach centred on securing funding and developing a multidisciplinary collaboration between healthcare providers. By successfully applying for the Bermuda Health Council’s Innovation Programme, we laid the foundation for our efforts. Through strategic partnerships, we assembled an expert team, devised a treatment plan centred on relaunching an evidence-based programme.

Outcomes:

Our collaborative efforts addressed a critical healthcare gap, resulting in access to treatment for underinsured patients. By relaunching the evidence-based programme reversal, we have helped to enhance patient outcomes.

This project demonstrates the significance of cross-provider collaboration and innovative funding solutions in overcoming barriers to care.

Conclusion:

Healthcare Solutions successfully navigated funding to broaden clinical services for underinsured patients. This initiative demonstrated that strategic thinking and collaboration is pivotal to the future of quality healthcare for everyone in Bermuda, not only those who can afford it.
