Case Study: Secured Emergency Healthcare Stimulus Grant

Introduction:

Healthcare Solutions played a pivotal role in securing a $500,000 stimulus grant for a cluster of long-term care facilities, preventing them from closure after the COVID-19 pandemic. We initiated a collaborative effort, presenting a compelling case to the appropriate Government Ministry to secure a stimulus grant. This strategic initiative not only preserved three care homes but also spotlighted the crucial importance of long-term care homes.

The emergency funding was announced in the media here: Government provides $500,000 to prevent closure of three care homes – The Royal Gazette

Challenge:

The challenge was clear: prevent closures and bridge financial gaps threatening the essential services of Long-Term Care. Orchestrating a persuasive pitch to the Ministry was key to securing the much-needed grant. We assembled a cohesive working committee to voice the urgency and significance of funding these facilities.

Approach:

Healthcare Solutions consulted with all three facilities to strategize on how to mitigate the risk of repeating a need for emergency funding. We worked with them each to find areas of effective cost savings, including taking in more patients/clients, developing consistent fundraising plans, and restructuring staffing and shifts. This supported our funding request.

Outcomes:

Our compelling plea resonated, leading to a $500,000 stimulus grant that breathed new life into the allocated care homes, ensuring their continuous operations. Beyond financial relief, the initiative raised awareness about the importance of long-term care in our society.
